Sealing materials: NBR, FKM and selection
Compound choice follows the duty: media, temperature and pressure. NBR is common for oils and fuels in moderate heat; FKM (Viton-class) is specified for higher temperature and aggressive chemicals. Exact grade, hardness and certification are listed on each product page — do not substitute a grade from this overview alone.
- Start from the fluid (mineral oil, fuel, water-glycol, acid, steam) then temperature range.
- Match published product specs (compound, hardness, size) before sending an RFQ.
- Cross-check equivalent OEM numbers on the cross-reference page, then confirm dimensions.
- For a factory recommendation, inquire with size, compound preference and operating conditions.

Which sealing materials do you use? How to choose for high temperature or special media?
Common materials include NBR, FKM/FPM, PTFE and silicone—matched to media, temperature and pressure. Share working temperature, media and motion type; we recommend a grade and note limits on the quote.
What QC is done before shipment? Can you provide test reports?
Pre shipment dimensional/visual checks per order; material certificates or test reports available as agreed by product/lot. Specify document types and standards in the RFQ.
